Surf & Turf

Scrap & Stamp Arts
May/June 2015
Pages 21, 22 &35

The publication call was for cards featuring images of seaside, poolside, riverside, and more for an upcoming "Surf & Turf" section.  "It's All Good" and "Dropping you a Line" were my submissions.

The cupcake card on page 35 in the "Simple Stampin'" section was a card I completely forgot about.  I think I sent that in a couple of years ago.  Guess they finally had a chance to use it. :)

Card Express

I attended a Card Express (3 cards of each of 2 great designs) at my local Stampin' Up! Demo's home (Sandi Loves Stamping).

On the first card, we used the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This is the coolest's white paper with a glossy white pattern (6 different patterns).  You can leave it white - or - you can sponge it with color and the glossy design stays white.  The only way to get this paper is through the Sale-A-Bration promotion.  I earned 2 packs....yay!   I hope Stampin' Up! makes this a permanent item, but apparently it's rare for them to make a SAB item permanent.  Oh well.

The second card features the Hardwood background stamp, a paper doily, and the Petite Petals stamps and punch.  I love the colors!

And...I forgot to add the words on the pink card.  They were supposed to go on the bottom right corner of the top layer, but I popped on the layer on all of the cards before realizing it...and didn't want to take them off.  So....

I recently attended a Stamp Camp at my local Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's (Sandi Loves Stamping) home.  We made 5 cards of each of 3 great designs - one of which is the Etch-A-Sketch card.  The image is from the Stampin' Up! set From The Herd.  I heat embossed the assorted sentiments across the tops of the Etch-A-Sketches once I got home.

I love this card!

Christmas in February Shoe Box Swap

February 28, 2015, was the latest "Meade Girls" Shoe Box Swap.  I played the Hostess-with-the-Mostess at my new (to me) home in the country-ish.  The theme was Christmas (for the most part).

We also honored the memory of my good friend, and one of the Meade Girls, Kathy Winland, who passed away suddenly on New Year's Eve, by making a card she had designed beforehand - and by collecting hand-made cards to be donated to Operation Write Home and the Ronald McDonald House (she donated cards to both for many years).

Below are the terrific cards we made:

 Paula, Cindy, Tracie

 Gloria, Michelle, Rose

 Kathi, Kathy, Theresa

 Fran, Jane, Angie

In Memory of Kathy Winland (on right)
4/17/62 - 12/31/14

I miss you so much, my friend.
